Andrew Carnegie

Andrew Carnegie was a philanthropist and in 1901 he retired as the richest man in the world. In 1902 he created the Carnegie foundation and donated over 10 million dollars to its research. He made giving money away after his retirement almost a new hobby. Throughout his successful career in the oil business he was in competition with John D. Rockefeller. He made it his goal to have more money than Rockefeller and create a better self image for himself throughout his career and his retirement.
